Animals
We have four DOGS and a CAT. Please do not feed the dogs - their size attests to the fact that they have become very successful beggars! A note of warning about Bertha (the Basset Hound); she has a penchant for socks and jocks and has become adept at stealing them from rooms undetected!
Artists
One of the strange rules of the house is that if you are an artist and paint or sketch any picture whilst here, the work of art automatically becomes part of our gallery along, of course with full recognition of your unsolicited generosity.

Bar
There is an honesty bar in the sitting room. Please help yourself and complete the docket. Ice always available.
Beauty
We offer a secluded and private beauty therapy room where you can unwind and relax in a tranquil atmosphere for a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure or reflexology. Beauty treatments should be pre-arranged with Reception.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in our sun room by the pool between 08.30 and 10.00. It is certainly not a continental breakfast and our aim is to ensure that you do not need to eat again until the evening. Sit back and enjoy. Our breakfasts are legendary!

Check Out Time
Check out time is normally at 11H00. Arrangements for a late check-out can be made with Reception.

Early Morning Tea
One of the traditions of Whale Rock Lodge is early morning tea or coffee served in your room provided it is not before 07h30. You're supposed to be on holiday!
Emergency
In the event of an emergency at night please dial 112 for assistance. Should there be no reply please dial 0 - 082 923 0214.

Fridge/Freezer
We will gladly keep anything of a reasonable size in the fridge or freezer for you during your stay.

Hairdryers
Hairdryers are available for your personal use in all suites.
Heaters
Oil heaters are available in each room and electric blankets are on the beds during the chilly winter months.

Internet
There is a 24 hour internet service available. Please ask at Reception. 3G Internet reception is excellent on the premises.

Keys
You will be provided with a room key, a front door key and a remote control to open the main gate to get you in and out of the premises. Please remember to take your keys/remote control with you in the evenings. The front door will be locked after 20H30.
Please ensure that keys are returned to Reception upon departure from Whale Rock Lodge.

Laundry
We will take your washing to a local laundry. If you hand it in before 10H00, it will be returned the next day. An additional charge is levied for laundry. There is no laundry service over weekends.

Power Failure
In the event of a power failure, you will find a torch, a candle and a gas lamp in your dressing table drawer/bedside cupboard.

Restaurants
For dinner or lunch we will be happy to book you into one of the many restaurants in the area. See here for a list of fabulous restaurants in Hermanus.

Safe
There is a small safe in your cupboard. Please hand larger items in to Reception for safekeeping.
Smoking
Is not permitted inside the Lodge. Ashtrays are provided on the patio outside your bedroom.
Swimming Pool
For safety reasons, it would be appreciated if there was no diving. Unaccompanied children are not permitted at the pool.
Swimming Towels
No white towels are to be taken to the beach or to the swinning pool. You will find swimming towels in your bedroom cupboard.

Tea & Coffee
Tea and coffee is served between 07H30 and 20H30. Just ask. Morning tea served in your room is free of charge as is your arrival tea or coffee.
Telephone
If you would like to telephone out, please dial "0" and then the code and number. For calle within the Lodge just dial the number provided on the list under your phone.
Television
5 Channels are provided: SABC 1,2,3, MNet and eTV.
